My first time attending the Toronto International Film Festival was to see Jagged Edge, the Jeff Bridges film. The second time was as a volunteer. I worked the VIP gate. That was eye-opening. The third visit will be the 16th. I have a ticket to see the last projection of Imogene, a Kristen Wiig film.
Yes, I hated Bridesmaids. There is a possibility that I’m not going to like this one as well. However, the plot as I understand it is not a female homage to masculine bad taste. This one is a rom-com, albeit with a smart woman who does stupid things. Annette Benning is in it too. Low budget and quirky, the film is looking for a distributor.
I’ve already begun my Festival Queue plotting. Comfortable layers, because the weather could be hot or cold. A simple bag…nothing too heavy…I expect to queue for at least an hour. Snacks, because the film spools at lunch time. I’ll need a bite to eat while in line. I am going to be in full grab a seat mode as soon as we are permitted to enter.
TIFF opens Thursday. You can purchase tickets online, but not to my showing of Imogene. It sold out within hours of going on sale.
